letter arrived claiming to be from the us government, requiring me to register information about my self-owned business. a threat of penalties for failure to do so was cited as "civil fines up to $500 per day, criminal fines up to $10,000, and/or imprisonment for up to two years." It stated I needed to input my information at www.brdportal.us/portal or scan a qr code. However, there is no website at that location.
