I received an alert while attempting to pay a medical bill. I was unable to "X" out of the alert screen, and called the support number. The technician walked me through the screens giving him access to my computer. He said that his team would clean my computer, and set up a Firewall. I accepted his offer, filled out the "pay page" with my credit card information, and watched their movements on my screen for about 40 minutes. There was only a black command screen for the last 20 minutes of the hour. I contacted them by phone and refused the Firewall offer. Our discussion became heated. I ended the call, disconnected from the internet, and powered off my computer. I ran a deep scan which revealed no threats, however, the history of the scan showed attempted and blocked access to my data files during that hour. I was filing my complaint here at ScamPulse.com when my screen started to flicker, and I was unable to finish. I contacted Acer Support and did a factory reset of my computer.
