I don't know how, but these scams can temporarily jump to the top of the search results on Google. That's how I also almost got scammed last night.

I searched for TSA Precheck, and clicked on the first result which turned out to be PreTSAAssist.com. I completed all their questions up until they requested my credit card to charge me $85 for the TSA Precheck and $149.95 for "processing". Only then did I realize I wasn't on the actual TSA Precheck website. Unfortunately I didn't think to try to "undo" the information that I had already submitted - I just jumped out of the site without paying. I now keep getting texts telling me my application is incomplete and to go to their link to complete it. Heck no!

My daughter was applying for tsa precheck while I was on the phone with her. When she completed her application, they requested $244.00. I told her she must be on. The wrong site and to close out. She later received an email and text from PreTSA-assist to receive updates, and an email telling her to complete her application.

After completing my online TSA PreCheck application, on the TSA.gov site, I clicked to receive notifications regarding my appt/application. Immediately upon finishing I received both a text and an email notifying me that my application was incomplete. Included in both the text and email was a hyperlink to my "application". It actually sent me to a location that demanded $148.95 to finish my process. I did not comply

Today (2/6) I called TSA at 855-347-8371 to see what the charge would be for. I was told by the TSA agent that sometimes people interfere with communication to try to extort money.

I reported the incident to the Office of the Inspector General.
