I called a phone number I thought was HP support as I was having a problem with my printer. The person I spoke with did not at first make it clear that he was not with HP but later said he was with Softex LLC and that HP used them for support. He said that my problem was caused by a trojan or virus on my computer. He charged me $149 to clean it up and $350.00 for a 3 year service and support subscription. The address he provided for their company turned out to be a residential address (per Google maps) and upon calling real HP support I was told that they do not work with a company called Softex.
