Was recently talking with an older relative, and she was describing a situation in which her friend had entered an online relationship with an unnamed welder that “worked on an oil rig”. This man, who had claimed to be a millionaire, had convinced her that he couldn’t retire from his job on the oil rig without her helping him transfer his welding money through a service called “SureStack”. The scheme involved her paying the conversion fee of $5000 USD, and receiving $10,000 USD in return. Upon looking up this service for myself, the web page was filled with placeholder text and an office address that did not exist. This, combined with the strange activity mentioned by my relative, led me to report this site to the Better Business Bureau.
