Purchased and download Surfshark VPN software. After downloading, the Surfshark software change something on the Windows operating system that prevent you from wireless printing and or reinstalling printer software. Surfshark Tech support worked 6 days and nights and where not able to resolve issue. Surfshark will not give a refund even though their product is defective and has caused a change on the Windows Operating System that now prevent you from using a printer (wireless).

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against SurfShark, a VPN service provider, for what I believe to be a clear case of fraud or at the very least, deceptive business practices resulting in the theft of my funds. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a small firm, I have been using SurfShark’s services for professional needs and have recommended their service to my clients, trusting in its reliability and integrity. This trust has been severely breached.

My account was abruptly terminated with no detailed explanation, other than a vague reference to a violation of their Fair Usage Policy. As the sole user of the devices registered under my account, and having maintained separate, individually paid accounts for each of my team members, I am certain that no such violation occurred. My attempts to seek a reasonable explanation and resolve this issue amicably were met with an unwavering refusal to unblock my account or issue any refund.

This response from SurfShark, which they attribute to an algorithm due to their no-logs policy, strikes me as not only unjust but indicative of fraudulent practices. They have, effectively, taken my money - nearly $300 in subscription fees - without delivering the promised service or providing a valid reason for its withdrawal. The lack of transparency and refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue about the situation further underscores my concerns.

I have provided clear evidence of my compliance with their policies, including bank transaction statements showing the individually paid for accounts. Despite this, SurfShark’s refusal to reconsider or refund the amounts paid amounts to what I can only describe as theft. They have taken funds for a service they are no longer providing, without justification.

This situation is not just a simple service dispute; it is indicative of potentially widespread deceptive practices that could affect other customers. I urge the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission to investigate this matter thoroughly. I seek your intervention to ensure that justice is served, which includes the unblocking of my account, a full refund for the services that have been unjustly denied, and a review of SurfShark’s practices to prevent such occurrences in the future.
