I applied for a job on Glassdoor.com and received an offer via my personal email. I was asked to sign a Terms and Conditions regarding the position. Afterwards, I was asked to complete a 2 day probationary period and upon completion I was to receive a $200 bonus. I was to be working remotely from home as a Personal Assistant/Human Resource Assistant at 20 hrs per week at $2500/monthly as a 1099 recipient. I completed the "trial" tasks-- including setting up a EE Payroll Spreadsheet with the EE information and bank account information for each (including myself). I was then asked to create a new business account to better communicate with clients. Soon after completing all the asked requests, I was contacted about using my personal credit card in the amount of at least $900.00. I responded to the ER that I did not have a personal credit card. I was then asked was it due to my bad credit score that I do not have one and I responded that it was due to a recent nasty divorce. I was advised that I have to purchase their "online shopping" and reassured that all payments to my card would be made on time by the ER and that it was "safe" for me to apply now for a Discover card. I have not responded to the ER since as I started to feel it was a scam. I am currently having to contact my bank, the job finder website, Google (for the created Gmail Acct, the General Assembly and you.
