I initially signed up to win a "free trip" while at my local Pride Festival last summer. I was so surprised when a couple weeks later someone called to tell me I had won! I was super excited. Now I know I was lied to when receiving this "prize." I was informed that the vacation couldn't be give away completely free but if I paid $99 per person (I paid $198 total for me and my girlfriend) then I had a year to claim 2 free nights from a list of select hotels. My girlfriend and I took our time finding the right location and place to stay and when I reached out to claim the rest of the prize I was informed that it would cost $231 per night for us to vacation where we had chosen. I explained that I had already paid almost $200 and said that I had proof of this payment. They told me that this charge would be in addition to what I had already paid and that the $231 would go to "taxes and fees." That's when I knew I was being scammed. Why would I pay full price for rooms that were advertised as a "free trip?" I asked for a refund of my initial payment and they refused saying that they only offered refunds for 30 days and I had paid 8 months ago. They offered other options that still required me to pay additional money for my "free trip" and at this point I just want to warn people about the scam and hopefully get this company shut down. I'm so disappointed...but lesson learned...ain't nothing free in this world.
