Mark expanded that the cheque would be delivered to my home and that a team would be traveling from St. Thomas. Mark knew that was approximately 2.5hrs from my location (I estimated 3hrs). No personal information was requested from me. Mark asked me to travel to Sobeys or Shoppers to pick-up a "delivery card" before they arrived and wanted to remain on the phone while I drove there.
Mark explained that the Global Sweepstakes Corporation & IRS required a $439.39 tax fee be paid to avoid paying taxes on my winnings. Mark stated that this was not a scam because PCH is accredited by ScamPulse.com and he was not asking for any personal information. I requested further information before leaving my home and Mark detailed that I would need to purchase a Vanilla Visa Card, confirming this was PCH policy and posted on their website. I asked Mark for the website address to confirm this, he stated "pch.com" and when I asked him where to find this information on the website he hung up the phone. Perhaps understanding that I would not fall victim to this scam.
