My husband purchased a dog from a breeder that was supposed to be located in Michigan. After several conversations and e mails he decided to purchase the dog for my daughter. She has been asking for one for so long and with her being bored at home due to the Pandemic he finally agreed. He paid $800 for the puppy then was contacted by a shipping company ( Cross-State Delivery) and asked for an additional fee(1,200 which 96% would be refundable). He was leary at first but decided to send it after looking at the website and it looked legit so he sent it. The next day we were contacted again by the shipping company asking for an additional $1,900 and that's when we finally realized we were scammed. We were caught up in the moment of making our child happy. My husband called the breeder, no answer at first then tried again. He reached him the second time and at the beginning of the conversation he tried to smooth my husband over but he wasn't having it. Then the truth came out. He told my husband good luck finding him because he was in Africa (don't know if this is true or not) and that he spent our $2,000 having a good time with a lady and a bottle of champagne. I looked over several complaints for this same issue and although I've noticed different comapny names it seems like the same MO. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!
