I tried to purchase a horse (2011 buckskin Quarter Horse gelding named Doc) from Sylvan Dewey Ranch. They had a very legitimate looking website, seemed very knowledgeable and on top of things, and even had a contract we both signed. I paid $1000 (half of the purchase price) as a deposit a few days before the horse was to be delivered. I paid trough Zelle. Then they said they needed me to send the second half of the money the night before they were to bring the horse so that it could be processed by the time they delivered the horse. I, foolishly, sent them the second $1000 through Zelle. Each of those Zelle payments was sent to a different email address. They continued to stay in contact with me until 10:30am the day they were supposed to deliver the horse. They said they were on their way and would keep me posted. After that I never really heard from them again. At 8:30pm on the delivery day they finally called me back, but it was too broken up to understand. They hung up and then called right back, but it was the same thing. Then they texted that they would call back in a few minutes. They never did. They never answered my calls, texts, emails, or Facebook messages. They then blocked me on Facebook. I have all the texts between us as well as the contract and email addresses I sent money to. I also have the confirmation emails from my bank showing I sent them money. I should have picked up on all the red flags, but I ignored them. These people are scammers and need to be brought to justice!
