I received an alarming email of what appears to be an invoice. The “invoice” states that nearly $600 was debited from my bank account to renew antivirus software (SYMANTEC) that I haven’t used in several years. There was no associated email or formal Symantec website listed. The sender was “official team support.” This immediately told me it was fraudulent. There was a phone number listed but I ABSOLUTELY did not call as this is usually how they attempt to get your information. DO NOT CALL! There are also a couple typos in the closing further signaling that it is a scam. No money was taken or attempted to be taken.
