Type of a scam Employment
The first point of contact was an email. Someone by the name of "Liz M." contacted me to ask when I would be available for a Zoom interview (For the following day). She did not give me much time to respond, and under 5 hours she called me from (702) 529-0230 (This is supposedly their business phone, but can't be located on BBB). She talked EXTREMELY fast, asked "Screening questions", and wanted to get me into an interview RIGHT AWAY with the "hiring manager.
She sent me a zoom link for the next day.
The day of the interview Liz called again to confirm the interview that was going to happen in less than three hours. She sounded nervous, and surprised when I told her that I would be there.
When I logged into the Zoom appointment, a message popped up that told me that it could take up to 8 min for a representative to take my video call.
The interviewer showed up on screen a few min later and began asking more "Screening questions." During this interview she claimed that Synergy Solutions is going to work with an anti human trafficking organization called "Covenant House" in Vegas. I immediately knew they were lying as this organization is not in Nevada. She then started rapid fire "screening questions" and interrupting me every time I had a question. She informed me that all of the questions that I was asking could be answered on their website. I got on the website while I was talking to her to find the answers, of course only thing there was generic information about what "Charities" they were doing fundraisers for. She also informed me that this position would be 9-5 and I would be going to wine and cheese mixers and parties to talk to potential donors. As someone who has legitimately done this, I am aware that these events DO NOT happen between the hours of 9-5 on weekdays. When I began asking too many questions, the interviewer informed me that she had thousands of other applicants to get to.
Some other red flags:
The address listed on their website is to an office building but no suite number.
If you go to their LinkedIn, the website is to https://www.synergydallas.com (the website is not active. I am assuming they go from state to state and scam until they get caught)
Despite "being in business" since 2020, there are 0 reviews or ways to look up their company info.
During the interview, I was informed that they do not do social media for non profits, but after mentioning that I was in marketing and social media, a position for it became "open" on the spot.
Clarifying questions:
Why do they not have a financial statement on their website?
Why do they not have a valid address?
Why are all of the organizations generic with no information about how much was raised.
Why do they have so much time to contact applicants over and over when they have "Over a thousand" applicants they have to talk to
Why does their instagram have 0 followers that are legit charities?
