I was contacted by a recruiter who got my my phone number from Indeed and apparently forwarded it to the interview manager for Syngene International Limited who’s name is Jaxson Dante. We then proceeded to have an interview through Microsoft teams. I was told that if all went well, I would receive an offer letter the next day, which I did. I was asked to sign the documents and provide a scanned copy of my ID for verification since the position was remote. Then I was sent a suspicious check that was supposed to be used to purchase the equipment needed to perform the job, at that point things seemed very sketchy. Up until that point, everything seemed legitimate. I proceeded to check the ScamPulse.com for any similar scams and lo and behold an almost verbatim tactic was use to scam someone else.
