Type of a scam Tech Support
12/21/15 While surfing the web my computer suddenly stalled so I responded to the Safari Alert (http://mac.systemerror.in) by calling the provided phone number on the alert, SYSFIX24 #844-215-1331, which I thought was a subcontractor for APPLE. I was told immediately that hackers were trying to invade my computer at that very moment through my internet server. Skeptical, I asked, “How do I know that you’re not hackers or scam artists?” Your company assured me they were legitimate providing me with ScamPulse.com endorsed website. Succumbing to this hysteria of hackers trying to infiltrate my stalled computer, reluctantly and against my better judgement, trusted your company to fix the problem giving you access to my computer with $150 to boot.
12/22/15 early morning your company made a “courtesy call” asking if I was pleased with the service. Everything seemed to be working okay so I extended my thanks. However, I scheduled an appt at 4:00 pm at Aspen Grove APPLE store in Denver. To my chagrin, the APPLE tech told me they were very familiar with this alert and that it was, indeed, a scam. However, they found nothing installed or uninstalled on my mac. “Why does SYSFIX24 do this? to push Google Chrome or Adobe Cloud?” I asked. The tech said it was for the money and to gather info. APPLE gave me their emergency number for future problems, advised that I change passwords and to continue using Safari.
12/23/15 upon checking my bank acct, found the check for $150 was already cleared....Hmm. My husband and I, trying to recover from this nightmare, spent the holidays changing passwords, etc.
I want to cancel the 3-yr. service agreement and $150 reimbursed. I’ve learned not to be trusting in the future and, of course, never to elicit your services. Your scam came at a particularly troublesome time for us as we were checking into cancer treatments worldwide. PLEASE don’t add to our dilemma. A prompt reply with reimbursement will be appreciated and will insure no negative feedback to website or BBB.
