Sarah Hudson poses as an HR representative and chats with you through Telegram. She'll encourage you to buy 'Software' with Bitcoin. She'll send you a check - a personal check from Connie H. Butler and Larry D. Butler in Huntsville, Alabama. Once the cash check clears, they'll make you buy $950 worth of Bitcoin and send it to a Blockchain address.

I was contacted via text message from "Sarah Hudson" who said she was an HR assistant at Tacere Therapeutics who was hiring a remote data entry clerk. She asked that I send my resume to her. I did not contact her initially but do have my resume posted online. I did find the website for this company, and it was a.org and did not immediately look "fishy" and found other information about the company online. The email address matched the one in their career section, so I proceeded with caution providing select information. She responded that my credentials were impressive and next steps were to fill out an application and take an assessment. This was primarily character questions with a couple number sequences and a question pertaining to the pharmaceutical world. I know I got a few wrong, but was still offered the job. There was no interview.
At this time, I did my final research and located a couple other scam postings on BBB.org. when searching this lady's name with the business. I found that Tacere was acquired by Benitec Biopharma back in 2012. I tried reaching out to the latter to see if the former company still existed but was unable to get any information. Looking further at any online information about Tacere was dated before the acquisition. The job offer letter was supposedly signed by John Monahan, who was one of the company founders and was on the board of directors, but he appears to have nothing to do with either company for a while. As an employee, you would be required to purchase a "personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws." You would be issued a check from the company to purchase the license.
There is no phone number on the website for Tacere, but when searching the address, 220 Montgomery St. Suite 2100 San Francisco, CA, I found some lawyers listed for the suite# and was able to reach one to confirm their location. The number Sarah reached out from was based in LaJolla, I also found that Tacere had a different website when still active. I emailed Sarah some final questions - most would be typical interview and job starting questions. I did ask a couple questions about the acquisition and she never responded.

“Sarah Hudson” initially texted me from +1 (858) 768-0446 about a job opportunity on 1/30/2024 for Data Entry which pays $27/hour, claiming I applied. I had applied to so many things I forgot. I completed a Computer Skills test, and the first red flag is that the last question asked me what banks I bank with. We moved to email and she used “[email protected]” so it seemed legit. They offered me the “job” after I completed the test, without an interview - another flag. I signed a contract with them with green and black header letterhead. After exchanging in email a few times about the onboarding, we moved to the Telegram app to complete onboarding and I was supposed to purchase security software for the training, only they first wanted to send me a check so I could purchase it. She asked if I was ok with mobile deposit. I immediately told her I wasn’t comfortable doing this due to a check scam I was privy to, and I’m happy to just be reimbursed for the software from my first check and I hope she understands. When I called her out for it being a check scam she immediately deleted her account. Couldn’t even argue against it.

It all looked legitimate until the employment contract. So many misspellings and mistakes.

I have been desperately applying to jobs - I recently got a text from Sarah Hudson at Tacere Therapeutics for a data entry remote role paying $27/hour. She then had emailed me asking for my resume. After sending her my resume, she then sent me an employee form to fill out and asked me to take a quick assessment. After completing the form and assessment she then offered me the job and sent over the contract. I did not provide any personal information so far - but I was incredibly weary that someone would offer me a job without even interviewing me. Seems like a definite scam.

I got a text from someone named Sarah who worked for this company saying thanks for applying and to email my résumé if I was interested, I have been applying to a ton of jobs left and right so I couldn’t remember for sure if I had applied to this company or not. Endrd up sending them my résumé and then the return email went to my junk mail and that’s when I decided to check if it was a scam

I have been applying for jobs on LinkedIn, and this one came up. I then received an email from "Sarah Hudson" saying I could interview for it. So I sent over my resume and then completed a 15-minute test to see my skills. The next day, I got an email saying I got the job and would make $27 an hour and that they were gonna send me an "expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check to acquire the license only. Our HR assistant (Ms Hudson) will provide you with further instructions and references to assist you in getting started." At this point, I did some more research and found where someone else posted their experience.

So I didn't realize it wasn't a real company til after this. But I don't remember applying to this company and I'm desperate for work so I got a text from them asking for me to email them my resume to [email protected] which is run under the name Sarah Hudson. What sketched me out was when I looked the business up their website's address said 220 Montgomery St, Suite 2100, San Francisco, CA 94104. But according to California's Secretary of State's Business Lookup, it said the business's principal and mailing address was 3940 TRUST WAY HAYWARD, CA 94545 and then on OpenCorporates.com, it says that Tacere Therapeutics, Inc. has two other locations in New Jersey and Delaware (where I think it's based out of and California's considered a branch).

I was approached by a person named Sarah Hudson offering me a job position as a data entry clerk for Tacere Therapeutics. This person send me some details about the position. After some research on LinkedIn, I found out that the company was acquired by another pharmaceutical company years ago. There are no currently employees to be found on LinkedIn. I checked their website and the names on the board are nowhere else to be found. I blocked her phone number and email address. What impressed me was they set an website with an org domain, even though it is not exactly the best website, they’re trying to look professional. Be aware people!

I experienced the same thing. I received a text from "Sarah" no last name. I called the number and it goes directly to the vm for "HR line). When I looked the company up on LinkedIn, it has 3 employees, one in Japan, (who is on the "Board of Director" (no s)), one who is an administrative assistant in Mexico, and one whose name is "LinkedIn Member" and they are located in the UK (they are a "trader (no capital T) at Tacere Therapeutics. Finally the email address is @taceretherapeutics.ORG, but there was a company called Tacere Therapeutics, INC that was acquired by Benitec Biopharma in 2012. This is a scam

Offered remote data entry position at $27/hour in response to a job application submitted (never submitted such an application). Did not click on any links or respond to the text. Came straight to ScamPulse.com to submit potential scam.

They texted me about a data entry job that seemed way too good to be true - $27 an hour, make my own schedule, will send me all this nice equipment. I said it sounded great and she sent me links to questionnaires to fill out and one question was asking what bank I used to see if it aligned with their direct deposit system. I put in a bank I do not use just to see how far I could get with them, and I answered all the questions on the form. Still waiting to hear back. Within the same hour I was also reached out to by a company called Bradley Pharmaceuticals and when you check their website, it's almost identical to the layout of Tacere's. And when you search Bradley it says it was dissolved years ago. LinkedIn pages are created for both companies as well but they do not have any posts. These people should be disgusted with themselves and anyone who's friends with them should be too. It's a pathetic way to make a living.
