This email comes from this email address which has also been mentioned in reports by other people in regards to a Data Entry Clerk Position paying an hourly wage of $35 and hour. They utilized RingCentral to communicate— and send a Jotform address: https://form.jotform.com/231852953769168 to display.
They had me fill out the jotform which described the role and duties.
A day after filling out the form I was "offered" the position, I was then sent a message with pdf attachments, one with information about the company, one explaining the onboarding, and one offer letter. After sending the signed "offer letter" they assigned me an assessment
The "assessment" consisted in answering the following question to receive a $100 bonus for peripherals. in a word document between 400-800 words " What is an administrative mistake you made and what did you learn from it?"
"
The importance of this assessment is to observe how well an employee is able to follow instructions to the detail, with or without supervision. It will determine that the employee possesses the technical know-how required for the position.
What Administrative mistake have you made in the past, and what did you learn from it? Explain in detail, and state if more than one. AT LEAST 400 WORDS, AT MOST 800 WORDS.
You will complete this assessment via Microsoft Word or any other app.
Your work should contain your name, interview code, and recruiters' name (mine). All these should be in a title block at the right top corner of the page.
When you are done with your task, save it as a PDF and attach herewith a copy sent to me on ringcentral. You are to begin work on this and send your complete work within 4-5hours or at the end of the day.
Take your time and get this right, you will be rewarded for the time and effort put in completing your assessment. That will be all for now, I look forward to your complete task."
After sending them that via RingCentral chat I was to wait until my Home Office package was approved. A day later, 7/7/23 I received their message with a pdf check for $4950 which I was to use to purchase work-from-home equipment ( laptop, printer, scanner, licenses, antivirus, etc.)
Said check looked pretty realistic, which only a few minor typos which revealed to me the nature of what was happening.
The fake check was to be deposited through mobile deposit, it was a "SUN MACHINERY" check from Suntrust Bank. Once the "funds" had settled then I would then be instructed on how to purchase the work-from-home equipment.</[email protected]></[email protected]></[email protected]...⇄
