Around 5/17/24 my mother met this person via a dating app ( taimi.com) and they started to speak regularly. They had been making plans to move in together and start a life.
"Denise" shared screenshots of her bank account to show hundreds of thousands of dollars in the accounts. The two of them had arranged an in-person meeting in Los Angeles and around 11/6/24, however the night before her flight, Denise told my mom that she (Denise) had been violently attacked by a group of men ( in India ) and was rushed to the ER. Denise stated the men beat her and took all of her money and personal belongings (except her passport). Denise had to call her banks and freeze all of her accounts leaving her penniless. Denise then asked my mother for money and my mom sent her $5,000. With Denise being in the hospital she needed money to cover her hospital bill in the sum of $5,000 USD since Denise stated that the daily rates at the hospitals are $700 plus other items that must be paid in cash from the patients.
At a later date, when Denise was discharged from the hospital and was on her way to the airport in India to fly to Los Angeles, her taxi was pulled over by the Indian Police and they questioned her about her status in the country and when she (Denise) told them she was on her way to the airport, they refused to let her go and demanded they receive payment and took all of her money. Denise then asked my mom for another $5,0000 USD.
Then later, Denise tried to leave India again and this time she was stopped by the airport security and they stated that since she was conducting research with her team while living in the country, they looked on the computer and saw that she had not paid her employees and told her she cannot leave the county until she pays her employees and took all of her money and Denise asked my mother for another $5,000 USD.
Since now Denise is stranded in India and cannot leave until she repays her debts, and unfreezes her accounts ( which she cannot do from India ) she asked my mom to send more money for her (Denise) to be able to rent a hotel, buy food and medicine and other essential supplies.
My mother has also been sending Denise $100 weekly via Cash App for food and other supplies.
