I placed an order on the website for Talbots Outlets on 12/12/23. After two weeks of not receiving shipment information, I sent an email to the customer service email listed on my order confirmation. I finally received a response and a tracking number to find out the package was coming from China. I tried to track the package and finally after 1/5/24 when the package was supposed to be delivered I emailed again and the company told me to check with my local post office. I did and the local post office had no record of that tracking number. So I told Talbots that it was undelivered and that I need a refund. They refused.

Stupid me. Clicked on an ad in Facebook for Talbots. The site REALLY looked legitimate. I even received a "Your order is on the way" email, although clicking to the USPS tracking site and using the order number didn't yield any information. Couple of days later my credit card number was used to buy almost $600 online at BestBuy. Fortunately Wells Fargo sent me a fraud text alert. And I got an email from BestBuy about my order being ready for pick-up at the Best Buy in Woodbridge, VA. I canceled my credit card and canceled the order with BestBuy using the email I received, so the scammer didn't get the items they ordered.

Facebook online ad showed 90% off sale from Talbots Outlet Store, website looked legitimate, order was placed, further research showed domain https://talbotsoutletss.com/ was created recently (12/4/2023) in China, attempted to cancel the order, no option available, contacted credit card company to open a case, reported site to FTC and Facebook
