Hello ****,

Your experience is aligned with the role, but your resume is not ATS-friendly. Kindly adapt your resume to be ATS-friendly as I need it asap. For creating an ATS friendly resume, please visit https://resume4ats.com/

For now, precise details about the role and our client are under wraps due to confidentiality protocols. Once we align our schedules, I’ll shed more light on this. I’ll review my calendar and circle back with potential timelines for our continued discussion.

This did not work out as well. Issue does not relate to the file format. Your resume is supposed to be optimized for ATS. Please optimize your CV from the already-recommended website, and send it back to me so that I can speed things up with a client.

Regards,

Kate Hoback

I am looking for work and so my email is listed openly on various job boards.

Someone purporting to be from a recruiting company ('Talent Recruiting Firm') emailed me (using a different email domain - hrtalentrecruitingfirm.com) about an open job and asked for my resume. I sent my 1-page resume via email. They then told me I must make it 'ATS-friendly' (Applicant Tracking System is a computer system used commonly in recruitment) and sent me to another website (ats-friendlyresume.com) where I can pay for this.

This is a common scam run against unsuspecting job seekers. My resume is one page, in ATS format, and easily machine readable, but that is always subjective. I guarantee there was no open job. This 'company' is 100% a scam.

The website says they were founded in 1997, but the website name was only registered in 2023 (in Iceland, FWIW); of the three people listed on the 'about us' page, 2 appear to be HR professionals at different companies (so this scammer is impersonating these identities), the third is a restaurateur in Atlanta; their physical address (3051 W 21st St, Brooklyn) is an open-air warehouse and loading dock; halfway through the website they use a different company name ('Private Equity Recruiting') which also does not exist (suspect they have run this scam under multiple names); they appear to also be presenting the same website and address also as petalenthunt.com and advancerecruitinginc.com (at least - I did not do an extensive search), all of which seem to be impersonating real people and committing identity theft and fraud.

This is not the first time I have seen this scam. Seems to me like straight-up wire fraud, impersonation, identity theft - but you are the experts. Please investigate and do whatever you can to bring these scammers to justice and prevent them hurting innocent and often desperate job seekers.
