I received a job offer for a part time data entry clerk for $30.00 per hour. I was interviewed via Skype messaging and was asked typical interview questions and was sent the website link to become familiar with the company. I still do not know if it is a legitimate company or not. But I was told they would send me a company laptop and a check to purchase office equipment and software. I received the check and it was for over $5000 and when I inquired to the HR rep-Kaitlyn Lawson, she indicated it was also for purchasing a desk and chair which I already had. I deposited the check into my account and was advised to purchase “training software” via Zelle for $1000. I should have listened to my gut as this sounded very fishy. Kaitlyn then asked me to go to Walmart and purchase 2 American Express gift cards to purchase the “Work Software” and that is when I knew it was a scam. So this check they sent me for over $5000 is a bad check.
