A process server calls you claiming to be from the county you live in from a blocked number, asking if you will be home between the hours of 3 and 5 two days later. When you press for more information they give you a phone number to call 866-217-1344. This number is answered by a Jeff Rossi claiming to be a paralegal with a debt from a banking institution, in my case bank of America saying that I now owe the sum of $1189 for a checking account that last had activity in 2009. Knowing I had closed a BofA account in 2006, in good standing I knew this was a lie. he kept pressing me to make a lump sum payment. My circumstances do not allow me to do anything of the sort at the present time. I informed him I could only do monthly payment plans for small amounts and he became annoyed saying that legal processing would go forward and that's what the court system was for. When I said I would then present my case before a judge and see him in court he hung up on me. My husband called back and gathered a little more information. Jeff Rossi works for taylor recovery in NY. He would only provide a PO box not a physical address, he has my full social security number, name but no address. They are trying to scam people out of money.
