On Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 1:14pm, I received a telephone call from 1-855-210-3300. The gentleman, who had an accent, identified himself as Lance and stated he was calling me as they were monitoring our pc which had been hacked by two foreign individuals whom he identified as Russell Blake and Thomas Demetri. He further stated the hack was due to the recent Yahoo network event and had affected our pc. I queried if he was with Microsoft which he stated he was. I also stated that I was uncomfortable because I could not absolutely determine who he was and whether in fact he did work for Microsoft. The irony is that we were having pc problems for the past few days which did add some legitimacy to what he was stating. I worked with him for several minutes doing basic pc commands. (For example, he asked me to hit the Microsoft key in the lower part of the key board and the r at the same time.) He showed me one screen which showed both Rusell Blake and Thomas Demetri along with other individuals who supposedly had hacked our pc. I was apprehensive, but due to the fact we were having pc performance issues, the call did appear legitimate. My interaction with Lance was focused on my supposed problem, but I did repeat several times I still was not comfortable he was who he stated he was. I asked for a telephone number so that I could confirm that he was in fact a Microsoft employee in their technical support group. He stated he would provide me with a contact number. We continued this for approximately 15 minutes when Lance advised he was going to transfer me to Don Watson, Sr, Tech. Don stated he would take the necessary action to delete the unauthorized users so they could no longer access our pc. He further stated he would take additional steps to clean up other areas as well so our pc would operate more efficiently for us. We reached a point in our conversation where we discussing anti-virus, spy ware, etc. Out of nowhere, Mr. Watson quoted me a price of $189 for 3-4 different software programs and wanted to know whether I wanted to consider 2 or 3 year plan. I told Don emphatically that if the reason for their call was to sell software, I simply wouldn't make that decision via telephone. He started to make small talk with me. He wanted to know how my day was going; was I still employed; how my holidays were, etc., etc. It made me feel more and more uncomfortable that this call was not legitimate. Mr. Watson did download his contact info to my desktop. Mr. Wason became angry and kept stating they were not trying to sell any software programs. At this point, my wife who heard my side of this conversation, did get my cell phone so I could dial the number. I dialed 1-888-454-3074 and it was immediately answered by another man who refused to identify himself, but would not. I have no proof of whom answered but it sounded like Lance did, who was the first person I spoke with. I found it interesting there was no voice response unit and options to choose before you could hope to talk with a live person. When this happened I advised them I was terminating the call and to please not call me at our residence again. Once the call ended, I looked up this company on the internet as it was on the information provided by Mr. Watson. Once I confirmed I had been contacted by Tech Secure, Inc and not Microsoft, I called the Tech Secure at the number listed above to attempt to speak with someone in authority as I wished to register a complaint. The man who answered the phone said he would transfer my call to someone else but he basically laid the phone down and then 5 seconds later came back on the phone identifying himself as a supervisor. My complaint is both Tech Secure, Inc employees represented themselves as Microsoft employees when there is no indication either of the individuals I spoke with have any association with Microsoft. I am disappointed that I didn't follow my wife's suggestion that I terminate the call, but it saddens me that every time my telephone rings anymore someone is trying to take advantage in one way or another. I would ask that you accept this as an official ScamPulse.com complaint and take whatever steps may be appropriate. Was contacted by telephone with offer of help in cleaning up computer files, malware, etc.,

Was in connection with technician by phone and online at same time for what seemed to be a legitimate service,

at conclusion of which session was offered a one time payment protection for lifetime plan for which I mailed them a personal check for $843.47 . A few days later I was again contacted to inform me that my computer had been infected by hackers, neccessetating another clean-up session, after which I was asked for information for on-line check transaction, which turned out to be for $1,487.86, part of which included my being again sold the same so- called "lifetime protection plan". Later I was informed by the "technician" that due to an error they had made I would not have to pay this amount, but instead a lesser amount of $700.00 for replacement of wrong programming, which would have to be ordered from India. Following this information, I contacted my bank, and stopped payment on the $1487.86 check. A few days later, the assumedly same Tech phoned me and gave me instructions for "MoneyGram" payment to India to pay for the program, which was obviously a scam operation.
