I was in the midst of watching a movie and looking up a recipe, when my computer started going off with a horrible alarm sound. The screen told me to not back it up or shut down my computer because it would cause great harm to it. Said to call this number to help with recovery. I was on the phone with them for 6 hours; plenty of time to steal all my information. They't kept hounding me with phone calls and threats. They told me if I didnt call them back, my internet would be disabled. I wrote them a check for $400 and they took a picture of me and the check. They said to mail it right away; I did not. I was very uncomfortable with the whole experience, so I changed all my passwords and the one I use for social security and OPM online services.
