I have received three phone calls. They claim that my computer is sending messages that It is infected with a virus. They have a security code they gave me of my computer.

When I asked them to hold they hung up

We called the number and the message said it was out of service.

Caller ID said, "Alvin Smith". Was told that Alvin Smith was supervisor, who was unavailable. Woman with Indian accent said she was calling from Las Vegas about computer error reports being sent by my computer. She asked if I was aware of this and (stupidly) I replied, "yes, are you going to help me?". She then asked if I was xxx (my name) to which I replied in the affirmative. Uh oh. Another take on the "can you hear me" scam?
