Approx. in 2016 a laptop purchased at Best Buy. Shortly after it crashed and a pop up seemingly from Microsoft said to call for assistance. I did. For $159 the problem was resolved. In 2020 I receive a call that I owe $6000 for the service of security protection I have received in the past years. Odd to provide service prior to payment but since they knew all about the 2016 issue and gave a discount, I sent payment as requested in the form of $1900 and $2000 checks. Checks were made out to, endorsed and certified mailed to TechAdvise LLC, 6230 Wilshire Blvd Suite 150, Los Angeles, CA 90048. Via Email documents were sent indicating the guarantee that no more security, subscription or auto charges would occur. If there was any future problems I was to Call 800-476-1054 ask for the representative working with me..Ronnie Fischer. I was also supplied a cancellation ID/ Security Code. Speed up to present....Received a call from MTE..Rep named Ron (978-801-1947) claiming I owe $8000 for security protection and that he had my banking info. the $2000 check sent to TechAdvise initiated this service not cancelled. I gave him the cancelation code and told him i wanted no further calls. He hung up on me. Since i have been bombarded with spam calls from different but similar numbers. i am currently blocking these as I receive them. I called the numbers for Techadvise that were provided for future issues. Both numbers are not for Techadvise and /or Ronnie Fischer (800-613-3841, billing 800-476-1054). Currently my blocked number list is increasing enormously. I do not know how a check made to one company to cancel services is now being used to request services with another. From my paper work it states that Techadvise is a marketing merchant for Logic Experts. MTE has not made that claim yet, however, as mentioned I am not entertaining communication with them.
