I received a check in the mail for $8000, from which I was to keep $1,000 as a sigh-on bonus and the rest was to be used to purchase equipment from their vendor. I made 2*$500($1,000) payments to their vendor via Zelle after the check was available in my bank account. I was also told to purchase gift cards 4*$500($2,000) so that their vendor could purchase and ship my equipment to me. After I provided them with the gift card information, the check was reported as fraudulent so I ended up losing $3000 of my own money.
