Received a call from a person who said he was Steve Morrison. He had a difficult to understand foreign accent, perhaps Indian. Caller ID said the call was from Antone, James C. 914.556.5499. "Steve" explained that TechBots wanted to refund my credit card $499.00 for a technical support contract I purchased from them. TechBots was moving off continent and would not be able to fulfill the contract. In order for me to receive this refund he would need remote access to my computer to remove their software. He said I could call 1.855.271.7650 ext. E120 to verify this information. This is not a number I was given to contact TechBots.

My computer froze with a message saying that my computer had a virus and not to turn off the computer. A number flashed on the computer for me to call. I talked to someone saying I could get help from them and paid $400 to have malware removed from my computer. I was suspicious of this technique but because this computer that I use is a work computer, I did not want to risk having no further use of my computer so I paid them for their help. I gave them my credit card number and they had full access of my computer
