This was a vanity award scheme. I received an email saying I won the "Best Of" award in my city for my business. It brought me to a website where it explained how I won, and how I could purchase a plaque. I thought it was legitimate, and I bought a plaque for $179.00 with shipping. Upon further investigation, I realised that I could not find any other information about this company online or any other business in my area that has won the award. Once I looked into further, I learned that it is called a vanity award scheme. I purchased a plaque for a meaningless award.
