I found a car that I had been researching online. Contacted what appeared to be a legitimate dealer. Sent an email to inquire about the car. Spoke to a person who called himself David Patterson. He wanted $49k for the car. We argreed on $45,500. He emailed me a signed motor vehicle bill of sale, which I signed and send back along with a copy of my drivers liscense.

I wanted to more proof that he was valid and he sent me more pictures and a walk-around video of the car.

He said the price included all taxes and shipping. I was leary of wiring him the full amount and asked if he'd take half up front and balance on delivery. He agreed, which made me comfortable with him, so I wired the full amount to be done with it. He called back later that day saying the wire went through, the car was being detailed prior to shipping and that it would leave that weekend. When the car never showed up I tried calling, emailing and texting several times with no response.

The car is now back on the website listed for sale again.
