I just got the same letter. It looks like the address they gave to send the check to is mailbox #316 at a shipping store called Pak Mail in the Anderson Arbor Shopping Mall on the corner of 183 and Anderson Mill Rd, just south of Cedar Park, TX.

My husband just got an LLC for the first time after years of dreaming about it. Now he received the exact same letter and without asking me to look at it, rushed to get cash to send a money order to them for $77.50. I'm looking into all of our legal options now and this disgusts me. We have kids and I'm waiting for disability so we cannot afford this scam bs..

As previously mentioned "Shortly after creating an LLC I received a letter from company stating I must take a final step for my LLC, including a registration fee of $77.50." Same thing happened to me.

I just received the same letter from Texas Certificate Service with the fee of $77.50. I questioned this as well. Thank you or the post. I saw on the SOS website the Certificate of Fact is only $15 so why would I pay them. Wow I'm sure they deceive alot of people!

I spoke with the someone from the texas secretary of state office, inquiring about the same form i received in the mail, and i was indeed told that it is a scam also.

thank you for sharing i just got mine it is in garbage now

Thanks for posting!

After carefully reading my letter, two sentences caught my attention:

1.) You have one step left in order to attain your ELECTIVE Certificate of Fact form from Texas Certificate Service.

2.) Texas Certificate Service is NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY GOVERNMENT OR STATE AGENCY and this notice is a SOLICITATION for your business.

While this MAY be a legitimate convenience business service, I'd rather go directly to the SOS (https://www.sos.state.tx.us/corp/sosda/index.shtml).

Shortly after creating an LLC I received a letter from company stating I must take a final step for my LLC, including a registration fee of $77.50.

Thank you for posting. I recieved the same letter, a step I had not completed for an LLC I established in previous years, so I looked this up to see if it was really necessary.

Our recently formed non-profit company received a letter from the 'Texas Certificate Service" regarding the "Certificate of Fact Request Form" alerting us that we had 14 days to respond to get our "Texas Certificate of Fact" at a cost of $77.50. It's a crazy big scam because when I typed in "Texas certificate of fact" the first website that appeared in the search result (the Texas Secretary of State website) said it could be ordered online or at a completely different address than the address on this form.

I have uploaded the document that we received (with all of the personal information blacked out) so that any newly formed companies in Texas can be on the look-out for this type of document from these scammers!

It doesn't appear that the document was uploaded so I'm re-uploading it.

The paperwork to create my LLC had been handled by my accountant and all necessary paperwork had been completed. Today (6/15) I received a letter from “Texas Certificate Services” The return address is for PAK Mail. This is the second type of scam letter I have received after registering my LLC.

I recently sent in paper work with the Secretary of State for my business acknowledgement. Soon after, I received this letter in the mail requesting money " Certificate of Fact request." After showing the form to The Veteran's Affairs office and Austin's Entrepreneur staff I was told that it's a scam. I didn't respond or send any money.
