1 month ago, I made an online specialty gun purchase for FFL transfer to a local gun shop. Paypal payment option selected. Email received with payment instructions, invoice paid. I then received a second confirmatory email the following day stating that the gun was shipped and should arrive to our local shop in 4 business days, exactly as advertised. No tracking number provided, the local shop would contact us. When the pick up day came, we didn't hear anything so we contacted the local gun shop: they were completely unaware of the transfer. Calls to the seller went to an unidentified voicemail box and, in an attempt to find another number, I googled the address which is actually for a Pawn shop that does not do internet gun sales. Paypal had already released the money by this point and was unable to help. FBI Internet Crimes case was filed. There is no way to take down the site, which is frustrating! This was my first scam ever and I really don't want anyone else to go through this pain and hassle.
