On Tuesday, May 02, 2017, Ms. B***'s elderly Mother was approached by a man (William Tighe) who wanted to repave her driveway. Mother stated that she couldn't afford that so Mr. Tighe stated he could pave her patio instead and make a pretty design on it (cobblestone or brick). The patio was already paved/cemented but Mr. Tighe offered to do the pretty design. Mr. Tgihe provided Mother with photos of previous work done in Pinehurst which were beautiful.
According to Ms. B***, Mr. Tighe has been going by Mother's house for several years trying to repave the driveway. Now that Ms. B***'s Father passed away, Mr. Tgihe was able to pressure Mother to have the work done.
Mr. Tgihe charged Mother $800. After completion of work, Mother informed Mr. Tighee that it looked awful and that he could not leave it that way. Mr. Tighe stated that is all she gets for $800 and started packing up. Mother got scared so she paid Mr. Tgihe by check.
Work will need to be redone!
Mr. Tgihe had a business card stating business was Tighe Construction with a phone number of 910-783-4130 and that they specialize in roofing, concrete and painting.
Mother called the police, they came out and stated there was nothing they could do about it. Police did state that this was happening all over the area. Police stated Mother could file a claim with Small Claims Court but probably wouldn't do any good.
