My friend received a message on FB. $2500 deposited into her acct, then she was told to withdraw the money and purchase Apple gift cards for $500 each,in order to receive her winnings of $150K IN CASH delivered to her door. They wanted, and were given her banking online sign in credentials so they could see if she was withdrawing the money or not! Their Facebook page was only established in Aug 2023 when I researched what was happening to her. It’s where she went to get the 3 Apple gift cards for $500 each and she was warned about this being a scamsby the store managers. They wanted her to immediately send them a picture of the Apple Card information!”Nelson” is a foreign man, yet his FB profile pic is obviously NOT him! I told my friend to change her password on her bank acct which she did, and he’s demanding she send her the new login credentials, and has rushed her! She’s 69 yrs old, and DESPERATE for help. She is my roommate and I can say this has been disturbing. She did provide with two Apple Card’s but I’m advising her to stop communications with this Nelson. His English is broken and his txt messages are filled with spelling errors. I believe if we were dealing with a legitimate company this would not be happening. If you’ve WON d150K, there shouldn’t be any hoops to jump thru. The UPS Store in Dalton GA was where she was to go initially to use a some machine to verify her identity! It’s also an hour and half drive to that store and I driver her there twice as the manager wasn’t there to use her fingerprints to some machine. The fact it was a UPS store made me feel a little better but more and more I feel like this is money laundering at its worst. We ARE trying to find some legitimate grants to help us as we truly are in desperate shape, like everyone else, our rent doubled, electric doubled and water tripled in our apt complex. We are not going to react to this man’s txts messages or phone calls. His number have been blocked. This poor woman was counting on her WINNINGS as this Nelson dude keeps calling her, DEAR WINNER. SHE CERTAINLY DOESNT FEEL LIKE A WINNER.
