I got a call from a San Antonio, TX number several times on a Friday but I never answered and they never left a message. On Monday when they called back I answered to ask them to take me off their list but a man with a thick Indian accent told me that he was from the department of education and that I was eligible for a grant and I just had to verify some information. He had my full name, home address, phone number, and that was was attending college. He read all of this information back to me to verify that it was correct. After that verification process he told me that I would be put through to the financial advisers so they can ask me a few questions to further verify and determine eligibility. He told me what types of questions I would be asked by his adviser and how specifically I should answer them. He asked me to lie to this adviser on several different questions that I would be asked. I asked this guy what organization he was from and he said " the department of education" so I said, " the department of education of..." he replied "FAFSA". I was told I would be put on hold, he would talk with the financial adviser and then the adviser would speak with me. After I talk with the adviser I would be put back in touch with the first guy and he would tell me how much I am going to get in grant money and when I should be expecting it (withing 5-7 business days). I was transferred over to the adviser immediately (no wait time for the phone call to be transferred) and the guy began asking me questions. as soon as he asked me a question, I answered differently than I was instructed to by the first guy and then the adviser put me on hold.

I hung up the phone because it was obviously a scam and they tried calling me back 6 times after that within a half hour.
