I was searching to buy a cockatiel and came across thefinchfarm.com. I saw that the company was located in Washington, i searched through there inventory and found the cockatiel I wanted. I saw that it would be a 12week wait and paid $477.82. They mailed me a folder that congratulated my adoption with a picture of the cockatiel and a pen. 12 weeks came and no news of a delivery. I started noticing they had bad reviews i didnt see when i researched the company before my purchase. I messaged them asking if my bird was on the way, or if i could please get a refund. They messaged me saying my bird would be delivered at the end of September early October 2021. Or i could get store credit of $477.82, and that they couldnt return my money. I found this very unreasonable and unnecessary. I had a panic attack and my mental health was affected terribly. I had to care for my mother who was diagnosed with stomach cancer and had her stomach removed, while i also had to prepare for surgery and other health issues. They took a lot of peoples money and no one received their birds similar to me. I wish i knew better and went to my bank to dispute this. I did try to resolve this issue through bbb.org with the company a couple times. It's sad and disgusting, they knew what they were doing. Allowing people to place purchases on birds they didn't have in stock and wouldnt get in stock. Awful. Im very cautious with online purchases, and i thought i found a legit company that would deliver their promise. I was sadly wrong. What a shock the company closed its doors around January 2022. My purchase was made January 17th 2021 of $477.82 for a cockatiel. Never received the bird or a refund, just received a panic attack and theft from this business.
