We purchased a kitten through a breeder that used The Globex Shipping company to ship (deliver) the kitten. The Kitten was allegedly scheduled to be delivered Wednesday morning traveling by air from the Seattle, Washington area to San Jose, California. The shipping company reached out around or about 9:34AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, indicating that a climate controlled carrier needed to be rented. A deposit of $1,200 was needed, but 90% of the deposit would be refunded upon return of the carrier. The next request was for insurance. There were different levels up to $2,500 for a policy that was fully refundable if no incidents occurred or claims made against the policy. The Commitment was then made for a 5:30PM arrival in San Jose area. At or about 5:00PM, we were told that the kitten was in Chicago and would not be delivered that evening. There was no information provided on how the kitten was being cared for and safeguarded. We were told that the kitten would be delivered around approximately 10:30PM. On Thursday, September 17, 2020, the kitten was still not delivered as of 11:00AM. At approximately 11:30PM they reached out and requested another $2,500 to create a document to prove that we are allowed to adopt an animal out of state. The Department of Agricultural and the state of California only require a health certificate or certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) for a cat to be transported across state lines. A cat is not a restricted species, so no other documentation is required.

We still do not have the kitten purchased.
