Total money lost $500
Type of a scam Charity
When you express interest, they will send you a phone number to message and the name of the “person” who will help you with the application process. You text the number thinking you are messaging “Jessica ****” of the Hope project and she sends you a form to fill out via text message.
After you fill out the text message form they “process” your information and message you back letting you know if your application was accepted or denied. It is of course excepted and they tell you how much you are to be awarded for example “$8,000” to go towards your small business start up, and that they will deliver a check to you the very next day. All they need from you is “insurance” to cover the safe delivery of your grant and that insurance is $500 and that they will accept it via cash app or Venmo but they push you towards cashapp. When you send them the “insurance” money they then ask you for your tax certificate and if you don’t have that they will happily apply for it for you for the price of $300. Hopefully by then you have figured out that there is no such thing as the Hope Project that assists with small business and back to school grants. When you catch on they delete the fake Instagram “friend” profile and will refuse to return the money via cashapp if you decide to withdraw from their scam program .
