Blake asked for consent for me to be in partnership for the claim of this policy benefit since I bear the last name of the deceased. He asked my permission to add my name to the documents and all proceeds will be processed on my behalf as the family member and next of kin. He wants 10 percent to be shared among charity organizations while the remaining 90 percent will be shared equally.
He added that this is 100 percent risk free and he has all the necessary documentation to expedite the process in a highly professional and confidential manner. He will provide all the relevant documents to substantiate the claim using me as a beneficiary. The claim requires high level confidentiality and may take up to 15 days from the date of receipt of the consent.
The documents appeared legitimate and convincing including his Canadian passport, credentials, death certificate, court records, embassy records. This appears to be a sophisticated operation. The scam starts when the credit union bank asks for fees to pay the release of funds from the U.S. side. There was also a court release fee of $40,000 that Blake himself would pay. The credit union cannot deduct fees from the funds supposedly because there is an insurance code that prevents the transaction protecting the funds from withdrawal.
