The scammer posted a job listing on indeed looking for data entry specialist, after I applied I received an email from the " employer" stating that the company would send me a check to purchase the necessary equipment needed for the job, which seemed off to me. The scammer asked for my home of address and what bank institute I use along with my full name, email, and phone number.

I did not provide my bank information or social security, only what bank I owned with. I thought it was a legit job offer until I did some research to find out that it was a check cash scam.
