I’m so glad I checked this site! I got an email from a “Bernard Telsey” using a gmail account, which was a red flag in itself, with a similar email set up. Different dates, different payment amount, but the vibe was the same. When I looked up Bernard Telsey, he is a real casting director, but I believe he’s located in New York, and casts for broadway. The phone number they provided was from California, and the address they provided was out of Cleveland, OH. Very bizarre. The “contract” and email itself had loads of grammatical errors, so I can’t take it serious. They also didn’t claim to be part of Thetalentdrive casting agency, but the location came up when I googled the address. Interesting …. Anyway, thank you guys for bringing awareness to this, I’m a broke aspiring model, and would’ve definitely fallen into the trap .. Anywhere in the screenshots that are whited out had my personal information in them.

Same scam

I received an email that looks like a scam this morning I’ll post the image below because it had no signature and no details I knew it would be a scam then when I looked at the address it came from it was talent drive.online and that seems like another red flag so then I just googled talent drive and about four or five results down I found you all and your stories so thank you for sharing!

I received the same email and then when I asked for more information I received a very strange email regarding the "Shoot". NOt even proper grammar and makes no sense. Please see below for a good laugh and take care out there!

Shoot Location/Venue:

Our location for this shot is within your City, this is why our selections are close to our studios in different locations. The project manager will secure a suitable studio near enough to get this project done so that you and your escort if you are coming with one would not need to travel far. The location info/address would be emailed to you.

All makeup items will be provided to you at the shoot location, except for the costume for the shoot which will be sent to you from our fashion store via FedEx courier service second day priority delivery as soon as they receive your measurement statistics and payment for your costume.

We will be responsible for your costume and accessories for the shoot.

About compensation, our professional standard rate as stated for this contract is $500 per hour only i.e. a total sum of $2,000.00 for the 4 hours will be paid to you, we will be working with you for 4 hours only. payment of $2,500 for your costume/fashion accessories for the shoot would be sent to you by our account department because the payment has to be done in your name for proper customization on your attires and must tally with your records that will be sent along to the designer.

Remember to bring your costume along with you to the shoot location. You may come with an escort, friends or family of your choice but remember to be punctual because the makeup artist would be at the location on an agreed time for make-ups as soon as you arrived. We will send you the venue info and driving directions before the shoot.

Same exact thing happened to me! I’m a model & am always looking for more collaborations, work, exposure, etc.! I received an email from ‘James Anderson’ via gmail. The same message, “$500.00 per hour, for a total of 4 hours pay, $2,000 total…at a location near you!…” I haven’t gotten far enough to experience any discussion about a check or deposit, though, it seems to sketchy! so here i am! stay safe ladies and trust your gut!

Definitely a scam

I received the same email from a James Anderson concerning sending the advance check.

It’s not the first time I’ve encountered scammers attempting to make some deposit a fake check. Usually, If someone is offering to pay you in advance by check for work you haven’t started that’s a BIG red flag.

The Talent Drive Scam with Robert Gilson

The Talent Drive modeling agency is a complete scam. If someone from this agency reaches out to you please ignore it. Robert Gilson tried making me deposit a fake check but I was smart enough to check if it was valid at Santander Bank. If an agency or anyone online tries making you deposit a check, always go to a bank first to check if it is valid! Be careful out there and don't share any personal information with these scammers!

Got an email saying it was for a modeling job and they would pay me 500 per hour for 4 hours and I would even get an upfront payment. The shoot was supposed to be at “a location near me” (RED FLAG??). Said they would send me a check to deposit so I can send it to the designer for my wardrobe. They also started texting me from a google app number. If I would’ve deposited that fake check I would’ve been arrested. Y’all stay safe and do your research before giving out your address and other information.

Same thing happened to me! I got the same email saying the same thing. The email came from a gmail account and someone named Robert Gilson. He said he would pay me $500 per hour for 4 hours so a $2000.00 total. I've been doing research about The Talent Drive and there is no instagram, most of their models are signed to Brooklyn MGMT, their website was made 2020 but they were "Established in 2010" and the address are sketchy ware houses. Be careful out there, stay safe.
