"the-turner-family.com" is a scam website where they claim to sell maltese puppies. They have stolen and posted photos, video, pedigrees and health reports for AKC champion dogs - claiming they are the parents of these puppies. They have never had access to these dogs. The champion dogs they claim to breed belong to the owner of a legitimate kennel: Storybook Maltese. The owner of Storybook Maltese is Barbara Shewmake. The dogs in question are her current breeding stock and live with her. She is well known in maltese circles having been breeding and showing champion dogs since 2008. DMCA Takedown notices have been filed as of December 11, 2023 as well as complaints/reports filed with ICANN and the Federal Trade Commission.

The scammers have stolen the photos, AKC pedigrees and DNA health reports of Storybook Maltese dogs and content from MANY of the pages there.

and have used them along with other content stolen from Storybook maltese to populate a scam website offering puppies at a fraction of the cost they would actually sell for. They have no phone contact information on their website - only a form. Their FAQ page claims they are located in Bozeman Montana. Their ICANN website registration contact information is fraudulent - their mailing address listed is that of a public park in Australia.

The stolen DNA testing reports displayed on their website lists Barbara Shewmake as the owner of these dogs so we are concerned this is not just a pet scam but also an impersonation scam since she has 15 years of champion dog breeding / showing. Using her name would give these criminals an air of legitimacy when attempting to completing a transaction with their victims. They have even gone as far as having stolen the content from her customer testimonials and references.

The website suggests using their pet nanny to fly the animal across state lines / country borders – estimating their pricing at $700 per puppy, $100 for crate shipping or $400 for a flight nanny. The idea of someone awaiting a puppy in an airport that never arrives because it was a scam is heartbreaking. Likewise we do not want someone representing puppy mill puppies as Storybook Maltese lines. They have never had possession of the champion dogs they claim, nearly every page on their website contains exclusively content stolen from Storybook maltese, any puppies (real or imagined) have not be bred from the Storybook Maltese dogs, and the site’s claims of such are fraudulent.
