I got contacted via text message and email, stating that I "successfully" placed an application to this website, and a hiring manager had an opening for an interview the next day. There wasn't a job title listed, nor a name of any person on the team. Plus, I went to Indeed & LinkedIN, where I recently have been applying, just to see if an application for this company was there. Nothing. Moments later, the same exact email & text message was resent to me. So this company is aggressive about trying to get "employees." The website is bare and full of fluffed words, stock images, no contact information, and no list of employees.

In a period of my life that I am applying for a lot of jobs, I received an email from a seemingly automated system that The 1 Events Venice had reviewed my application and wanted me to schedule an interview on monday. I didn't remember applying for a role with them, but i was applying broadly and figured I may have just forgotten the specific role. So I scheduled an interview and asked if they could send me the original job posting. They never responded. When I had the interview, it was with multiple other candidates and one person from "The One" who spoke quickly and frantically and explained it was an interview for a "brand ambassador role" and that they're a "marketing firm" but you can't find any of their clients. I would never have applied for a brand ambassador role, so I'm certain they practice web scraping and prey on people who are applying to jobs and I'm not sure how they obtain people's emails and send them a fraudulent email about a fake application. The interview was 7 minutes long, extremely vague and then I received a "second interview" to which I responded that I would like to withdraw my app and not be contacted. I think they are an MLM that's contacting people in a way that violates our privacy and misleading people.

I’ve been offered a “direct marketing” sales position by a woman named Mavjigul Rahimshoeva on behalf of an “experiential marketing” company called “The One.”

I was surprised and suspicious by them pursuing me for employment—and then interviewing and hiring me very quickly—because I have no marketing education or experience, their website blog mentions that they like to hire recent college grads, which I’m not, and I don’t recall applying for the job.

What they told me the role consists of is starting as a “brand ambassador” and doing morning trainings before going to “events” where I will solicit donations for Doctors Without Borders. I would earn $600/week + commissions on donations, with the hopes of becoming a higher-paid “campaign manager.” It sounds like a Multi-Level-Marketing type scheme.
