I applied for a receptionist position in Las Vegas on indeed for a company called Thinkwise Software. I applied and was emailed by the "Talent manager". She conducted a google hangout interview (messaging app) and it lasted about 30 minutes. She claimed that I excelled in the interview and was offered $35.00 an hour. She continued to described job duties and then claimed that I would be working from home for the first 2 weeks. She claimed that Thinkwise (based in the Netherlands) will be expanding and opening 5 locations in Las Vegas. I asked for an address for the Las Vegas office, she said they were under construction and would be ready in the next 2 weeks. She said that the company would be sending a check for the required computer software that I would need to work. The following day I received a check for $3,420 dollars. I already had an inclination that this was sketchy, and as soon as I received the check it reassured my feeling. The check was issued by the Lawyers Trust Fund based in IL. I confronted her about the check and she claimed that they were partners with Thinkwise. Upon further research, I found that scams like this happen to others and they're targeted through job boards like indeed, and Linkedin. I did NOT cash the check. I hope scammers will learn to understand that the severity of their actions, it makes those who are victimized feel violated.

Received a txt about 7:13 am PST. "Good morning, You applied to our (Thinkwise Receptionist) position on Indeed. Check your email as Mrs Tineke has contacted you. Thanks Becky" Of course, I didn't reply. Checked my email. Here is a copy of my email:

Good Morning Maryann,

Our recruitment team has viewed your profile, we are pleased with your qualifications and believe you have the required qualifications to undergo an online interview. You may choose to focus on one of the main areas needed: Administrative Assistant, Data entry, and you will be trained towards it during your training and orientation.

You are to set up a screen name with Gmail account on (www.gmail.com) and then hang out on (www.google.com/hangouts) and message me Mrs. Tineke Koops

([email protected]) for the interview process, your verification code is (JOB-091618), this would serve as your identification number throughout the online hiring process.

Your timely response matters a lot.

Opened my google hangouts. Started a conversation with assumed named Mrs. Tineke Koops. While I was having a conversation with Mrs Koops. I was doing my research on her. I looked on LinkedIn. She sure looks like her picture. She continued to asked me questions to qualify for this online interview. After our online interview, she then say that she has to talk to personal for approval of my online interview. 5 minutes later, she came back and says I have the position. So I continued to ask questions about why can't she used her email from her work. She replied with "well I prefer to use my gmail. She then asked for my address. I then reply, "Don't you have a copy of my resume?" She then said, "Yes,I do" Please use that address if you plan to mail more information about the position and my responsibilities." I ended my conversation. In the meantime, I emailed the real Tineke Koops that I found in LinkedIn. She replied the following day. She said that their company is in Dutch and don't plan to hire or open a Company in Las Vegas. Then today, 8/17/18 at 9:00 am PST, I got a text telling me "FUkoff" and it blocked. I hope these LOOSERS will get caught.
