Scammer posed as someone named Thomas Mayes and used the company Brad Eriksons Homes and Lettings. He made a job post in a private facebook group that you have to answer questions to get into. He posted the job and it looked like a normal job listing. It was for a virtual assistant to help with a realty group. I emailed my resume to [email protected] and he responded back asking to speak further on facebook messenger, didn’t think anything of it because of initial interaction. All seemed legit, he explained the job, $600 a week for part time, and then asked if I’d be willing to sign an employment agreement. I was hesitant at first and had friends and family check it over. After doing some online research, there was no trace of the company. I looked up the address used in the employment agreement(5252 sunrise blvd ste 6, fair oaks, CA) and it was a remax realty office. I brought this up to him and he claimed they worked together as partners. After further discussion i asked for some form of verification and he offered to call me. He had an accent from another country and didn’t seem to match his photo or facebook profile.
