I received a message from the instagram account thtsoundsgay offering a discount if I bought one of their products, the page has over 800k followers and seems legit, so does the website they provided.
I ordered a 40 usd t-shirt on July 5th 2021 and received a confirmation email; on August 27th 2021 I contacted the instagram profile to ask why is it taking so long for a simple t-shirt to arrive on the mail, I buy things from eBay all the time and get them within a week and they responded it was due to covid; I said I would wait and they said I could contact them if I had any other questions, and then proceeded to block my account on instagram so I can't report the page there or contact them.

A random person messaged me saying they wanted to collaborate. I messaged them back and they said to message the main website and they’d get back to me. The “girl” on the website said she would make a code with my name for 30% off if i bought the shirt and posted it, and i was honestly down just to get it for a discount and offer my friends a discount. Even if it wasn’t like a real thing. A shipping label was made and immediately cancelled and i tried to contact the email i was given and it was fake. So i messaged the account again on Instagram and they kept repeating the same question over and over. It’s obviously a scam.

A little while ago they reached out to me on instagram and i ordered a $40 shirt that said "that sounds gay im in". Yet i never received my order. I tried messeging them about it and they said someone would email me about that. That was a while ago and i have yet to get an email about my order. Im very frustrated because i really wanted that shirt and didnt have much money to start with. I asked for a refund since i never got my order and they sent me a link to their website to look at the refund policy but all i could find was a part explaining how to get a refund after returing an order. But i cant return an order i never got. At this point i just want my money back.

Dang, as I read more and more of these on this site it makes me sad, I too thought that maybe I'd be getting a free item since I know that, that's what ambassadors are, they promote the company with something free given to them but when I saw that they just give ya a crappy discount, I was highly disappointed. I also thought that maybe Monika was real but now that I look at my dm's... yea. fully automated but she did convince me! lol

I posted a scam alert before, but here’s another one with what I said to them. These messages r clearly automated. It’s so sad how this brand is taking money from queer youth under the guise of becoming an “ambassador.”

The clothes r pretty ugly and overpriced as well. No wonder they have to scam… who’s buying this willingly?

about a year ago the company dmed me from their spam page asking me to be an ambassador. looking back i should’ve known it was a scam, because a brand should send u things for FREE if they want u to be an ambassador. anyways , i ended up getting scammed because they didn’t respond to any of my emails or dms. luckily i only spent 12.50.

I’ve at 6-7 different bot accounts message me asking to be an ambassador. I’m straight and my account is private, my pfp is a drawing (not even of me) and i have less than 150 followers so I knew it was a scam. Turns out they try and get you to message the main account and offer you a discount on their items to encourage you to buy but don’t fulfil the majority of their orders so they have some good reviews but everyone else gets scammed out of money.

Very obvious bot responses. They are only looking to make money off of people who fall for this. This is obviously a code anyone can use and they offer something special, though this would still only be for them to make money even with the gift, because they obviously don't post pictures of really people.

I’m constantly getting messages from obvious spam accounts asking me to be an ambassador for them. I always report and block them and it keeps happening. This is very scummy behavior from a company that is obviously queer-baiting. Do not buy from them

And I already wondered why someone would like me with barely 1k followers to be an ambassedor... I´m a fullheartet ally and was telling them that I am suspicious and only a small art-account, but now I see here that they send the same "responses" to all of you, no matter what we type. I´m a bit disgusted... and gratefull so many share their story. I´d feel so bad if any of my followers get scammed because I´m too naive.

PS: I looked at all the screenshots here, and they send the same answers. I wrote quiet elaborate messages, but now I recognize there was never a real human reading those ):

It’s so sad that they are convincing people to be an ambassador just to scam them. It’s also rlly messed up that they are using the lgbtq community as a leverage to bring people into a scam. The email they give you is fake and “Monica” is a bot.Please do not order from them or even contact them just report and block them!

I received many instagram messages from random accounts with just letters and numbers as their names. I messaged the owner of the account and they pushed that i become an ambassador without asking anything about me. They made a discount code with my instagram name and asked me to send pictures once i had received my product. when i looked up the company and found out they were a scam i quickly told them i needed to back out and they gave a gauge response about helping me in the future. i'm only 14 and they didn't seem to have any issues with contacting a minor. do not fall for the scam.

Ive probably gotten 10 messages from this company, not from the company's account themselves, but from people of different names and small accounts. I keep blocking but they keep messaging me with different people's names. I am openly trans on my account.
