After the transfer, "Tee" confirmed that delivery of the kitten would be delayed because the kitten needed to be spayed and time to recover from the surgery. I followed up via email and text to find out how the surgery went but didn't receive a response.
A kind and reputable Russian Blue breeder confirmed that she had recognized the photos on www.ticatusa.com from other scam websites.
I notified my banking institution to report the fraud and asked whether it would be possible to recover the $1700.The bank representative explained over the phone that it's unlikely that the funds would be recovered because the wire transfer is the equivalent to sending cash to an "authorized user".
Be leery when asked to send money through Western Union, MoneyGram or cash apps like Zelle. These payment methods offer no recourse to recover funds obtained through fraud.
