I met a man on Tik Tok and we became friends and talked about dating. We had great conversations. This past Saturday he told me there was an explosion at his work site, which supposedly is in Louisiana. He said two of his workers were severely injured. We talked about this in great detail. Later in the afternoon he told me his boss was going to let him out of the contact. He proceeded to tell me there was a box for him that his boss was sending him that had a check fo $50k, $15k in cash and his retirement paperwork. He said because he was out to sea and on a ship/oil rig, he could not get the money. Because I had fallen in love with this man, I was naive to what was going on, and he asked for my help. I didn't really have the money to help him, but he said once the box arrived I could get my money back from the cash that was in the box. I believed him and stupidly sent the delivery company the $750 that was needed to send the box. Dumb choice. I called a friend and told her what happened. She told me it was a scam and that she had a similar thing happen to her, but she didn't fall for it. After I sent it and talked to my friend, I immediately submitted a request to get a refund through cashapp, since I used their services for payment. I also called my bank. The bank said the transactions were pending and they can't do anything until the transaction has cleared my account. When I filed for a refund with cashapp, they said since I had already paid the shipping company, there was nothing that could be done. I also submitted a report that I was a victim of fraud. They said they got the claim, but the only thing that would do is to let other people know. I have a lot more to detail about this but don't know how much you need or want. I have always believed that you f it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. However I fell for it hook, line, and sinker because of "love"
