A woman posted in a For Sale group on Facebook about looking for people to join her team working in the MMJ field and to private message her for any questions. I messaged her and she informed me it would be an online only work from home data entry position, which is what I had been looking for as of late. She messaged me back and gave me an activation code and told me to download Google Hangouts and to email [email protected] with said code. I did and another woman responded and went over the position (minimally) and asked about any personal, medical, credit card or student debt I may have. After I explained I had a couple bills and student loans, she explained they would possibly pay off my debt to ensure I had a high credit score to work for the company. At this point, I was thinking it was too good to be true, but continued with the interview process anyway. She continued to ask me questions, which I replied with as vague information as I could at this point, and after a brief interview, she told me they were going to go ahead and hire me. This is when I realized it was possibly a scam, because she asked me to purchase a $200 Visa gift card to "activate my online portal" to begin training online. At this point, I turned down the position and left it at that.
