I was recently contacted by phone, by James Gonzalez (774-849-7834), who said he was with Globo Timeshares in Massachusetts. He stated that the owner of Universal Timeshares was out of the country in 2012, when I sent them $1,800 to finalize the (supposed) deal to sell my timeshare. He said that the owner deeply regretted my situation, and that he had fired and had had arrested some of his previous employees, and wanted to make it up to me by returning my $1,800 along with a certified check for $18,000 for the sale of my timeshare. He gave me the name of the buyer from the Dominican Republic, who had made a deposit of $4,000 toward the purchase price of $18,000. He said after I signed the contract and sent him $1,550 for legal fees, he would send me my check. He emailed me the contract on 7/23/15, and after reading it over, I noticed that the address on the contract was actually Washington. Also, I noticed that in some places the name was Globo Timeshare, and in others it was Timeshare Globo. After receiving a few phone calls from him, I emailed him back. I told him that I had lost far too much money in the past trying to sell my timeshare, with absolutely no luck at all, and that I did not want to be scammed again. I said that I would not send any money up front. I told him he could take the $1,550 out of my check of $18,000, or out of the $1,800 he promised to return to me from 2012, or he could send me my check and I would then pay him the $1,550. I never heard from him again. I emailed him again, and still got no response.
